Discarded | 3D Animation + Rigging

Our final project at school was a deck-building toy battling card game called Discarded! Check the game out here: https://aieseattle.itch.io/discarded
My role in the project was rigger and animator. We had 6 different sets of toy parts that all needed to fit the same rig (with the exception of the boss model) so that limb geo could be switched out, and so that each set of geo could receive the same animation data. To achieve this we designed the rig first and our character modeler Cory Collins modeled the geometry around the rig instead of the other way around. The resulting rig allowed for one-legged or two-legged models, full 360 degree rotation in the waist, and detachable limbs.
